This article will guide you on how to authorize Sellers to use your Short Videos for their Video Shopping Ads. Authorizing your short videos to be used in ads is a great way to increase your content's reach and gain more commission with boosted support!
To get you started, we will go over how to authorize your videos for Ads and what's the difference between Standard Commission Rate and Shop Ads Commission Rate.

Note: If the Seller did not set a separate commission rate for Shop Ads use, the Creator will only see the standard commission rate.

If a creator generates an order from ads-boosted traffic for a product that is registered in multiple affiliate programs (Product Marketplace, Collab Invite and TAP campaigns), the commission rate will be applied as follows:

Authorizing your Videos for Ads
Allowing Sellers to use your videos for their ads can help your videos grow tremendously. The boost coming from more views can provide you with extra commission. This option can be turned on in two pathways: Creator Center and Product Detail Page. We will guide you step-by-step on how to access the authorization in both cases.Creator Center Access
You can access the authorization from TikTok Shop Creator Center by going through Settings. The authorization page provides you with an explanation of this feature. Check the step-by-step guide below to get started:
Product Detail Page Access
On any products that can be used for Affiliate promotion, you can check the product's earnings sources and see the commission rates set by the seller for standard promotion and using Shop Ads. On any Product Detail Page, you also have the option to turn the authorization on or off.Note: If the Seller did not set a separate commission rate for Shop Ads use, the Creator will only see the standard commission rate.

Collab Invite Access

Standard Commission Rate vs Shop Ads Commission Rate
Sellers are allowed to set three types of Commission rate: (1) the Standard commission rate for organic/non-ads content, (2) Shop Ads Commission Rate for products added in Product Marketplace and (3) Shop Ads Commission Rate for Collab Invite products.To learn more about how each commission rate will be received by a Creator, check out our table below:

- When linking the product to the video, if the creator linked the product through TAP Campaign, then the TAP Campaign commission rate will be applied.
- When linking the product to the video, if the creator links the product via Product Marketplace or Collab Invite, then the Collab Invite commission rate will be applied if the Creator accepts the invite. If not, then the Product Marketplace rate will apply.

- If I turn on the authorization, will this mean I allow all sellers to boost my affiliate videos?
- Yes, we made it easier for Creators to automatically provide authorization for Ad use in one toggle.
- Can I turn off the authorization?
- Yes, you can repeat the same steps shown above and just switch the toggle off.
- What will happen if I turn off the authorization while Sellers are boosting my videos?
- All related video Shopping Ads from the Seller will stop. If you turn it back on, they will need to set the Ads all over again.
- Is shop ads commission applicable for products that were added from TAP campaigns?
- Shop Ads commission rate can only be set on Collab Invites (Target Collaboration) and Product Marketplace (Open Collaboration)
- If the same product is in multiple Target Collaborations, Open Collaborations, or TAP Campaigns, the commission rate will be applied as follows:
- When linking the product to the video, if the creator linked the product through TAP Campaign, then the TAP Campaign commission rate will be applied.
- When linking the product to the video, if the creator linked the product through Target/Open Collaboration, then:
- If Shop Ads commission rate has been set under Target Collaboration, this Shop Ads commission rate will be used.
- Otherwise, if Shop Ads commission rate has been set under Open Collaboration, this Shop Ads commission rate will be used.
- Otherwise, if Standard commission rate has been set under Target Collaboration, this Standard commission rate will be used.
- Otherwise, the Standard commission rate under Open Collaboration will be used.
- If the creator turned on the authorization, and the seller didn't set any ad commission but set a standard commission of 15%, then can the seller boost the affiliate video for ads? And the commission of the order will be 15%?
- Yes can boost, and commission will be 15%.
- If an affiliate creator already turned on mass authorization of their affiliate creatives, do they still need to share individual video codes with advertisers?
- After the mass authorization of affiliate creatives is turned on, it is not necessary to share individual video codes for posts which have affiliate organic product links.
- However, it is still necessary to share individual video codes for posts which do not have any organic product link or which only have non-affiliate organic product links.
- If a video code's authorization is turned on, this will not turn on mass authorization of affiliate creatives. If a video code's authorization is turned off, this will not turn off mass authorization of affiliate creatives.
- If mass authorization of affiliate creatives is turned on, this will not turn on individual video code authorizations. If mass authorization of affiliate creatives is turned off, this will not turn off any individual video code authorizations of the same affiliate posts.
