Enforcement Actions

In addition to the Violation Points, we may take additional punitive actions such as:
  • Formal warning messages.
  • Suspension of listing privileges.
  • Delisting products.
  • Suppression of user traffic for your livestreams, videos and listed products
  • Removing the your listed products' eligibility for Shopping Center recommendations.
  • Placing an order and product listing volume limit on your shop.
  • Temporary or permanent withdrawal of seller benefits.
  • Temporary or permanent suspension of your enrollment of Affiliates and other events.
  • Temporary or permanent suspension of access to the TikTok Shop.
  • Temporarily or in serious cases, permanently withholding any balance and/or cancellation of any transactions associated within your account.
  • Cancellation or withdrawal of any promotions and/or subsidies offered to you.
  • Deleting your account.
  • Commencing legal action against you.
  • Reporting you to the relevant regulatory authorities for prosecution (TikTok Shop reserves the right to provide any necessary information about your account to regulatory authorities).
  • Removing your ability to review and approve customer-raised refund requests. The decision to approve a customer's refund request will be handled directly by TikTok Shop on your behalf.
  • Deducting any monies due and payable to you as compensation made by you for any loss or damage to TikTok Shop and/or affected buyer(s) or other relevant third parties.

Withholding Balance

In addition to the actions above, if we reasonably believe that you have violated any of our Policies or our Seller Terms of Service, then any monies due or that may become due to the seller (including but not limited to sales proceeds) (collectively referred to as "Balance") may be temporarily withheld from you. This decision can be made at our sole discretion and without prior notice to you, although we will notify you if it places this restriction on your account.
Such withholding of the Balance may be done for the longer of:
(a) 180 calendar days from the date of our notification of the suspension; or
(b) The completion of the Platform's investigation into the seller's suspected breach.
If we determine that your breach of any of our policies has caused the us, customers or other third parties any loss or damage, including operating costs of any associated investigation, you may be required to compensate, out of the Balance, any of the affected parties. Once the compensation has been paid out, the remaining Balance will be returned to you.
A seller may file an appeal against this enforcement action in accordance with the Seller Appeal Guidelines.
If the appeal is successful, we will release the monies due to you.
We may withhold your balance in the following, non-exhaustive violations:
  • Significantly Not As Described (SNAD) products
  • Fake or fraudulent orders
  • Unauthorised access
  • Negative account balances
  • Abuse of platform incentives

Freezing of Wallet Withdrawal Function

In the event of abnormal account behaviour, TikTok Shop may freeze the offending seller or user's wallet withdrawal function to safeguard against potential fraudulent activity. The wallet withdrawal function allows a seller to withdraw their sales balance from TikTok Shop transactions.
Once TikTok Shop has determined that the account is safe, our platform will unfreeze the wallet withdrawal function.

Seller-Creator Joint Enforcement Actions

We may also take enforcement actions against your shop if your linked creator account (such as a TikTok Shop Official Account or TikTok Shop Marketing Account) violates our content policies and guidelines.
You are responsible for ensuring your linked creator accounts abide by our platform policies and guidelines. The enforcement action(s) taken against your shop will depend on the severity of your linked creator account's violation of our policy or guidelines.
You will be notified through the Seller Center if a joint enforcement action is issued. If you believe an enforcement action was taken against you in error, you can file an appeal via your linked creator account Account Standing page.
