Product Categorisation

Manage Products
Selecting the correct product category and subcategory increases the reach and discoverability of your product listing, so you should carefully select the category and subcategory that matches the actual product sold. As such, selecting an inappropriate or incorrect category is prohibited on the platform.

How to Choose a Correct Category?

A correct category choice is one that matches the product's function and description. By understanding the product’s main functions and special features, it will help you decide the suitable category for the product, making sure it fits what customers need and stands out in the market. Do consider the product's features and functions when choosing a product category. For example, a dress can be categorised under the "womenswear" category.
You have two ways to select the relevant product category:
  • By selecting from the list of available categories; or
  • By inputting keywords.

Choosing a Category via the List of Categories

You can review the list of available categories and subcategories in the Seller Center to select the appropriate category. For example, if you are selling a pack of hangers, you should choose the "Home Supplies" category, followed by the "Home Organisers" subcategory.

Note: You will not be able to list products under "Invite-Only" categories. These categories will be greyed out and will not be available for selection. For more information on "Invite-Only" categories, please refer to our Restricted Product Guidelines.

Choosing Category via Keywords

You can input keywords into the "Product name" section to see potential categories to choose from.
⚠️ Please note that the suggested categories should only be used as a guide. If the suggestions don't seem correct, you might need to manually search for the appropriate category.
