2.1 How to create a good product title

  • Capitalize the first letter of each word (except conjunctions, articles, prepositions)

  • Use Arabic numerals("5" , not "five" )
  • Use abbreviations for measurement unit, such as "cm" 、"oz" 、"in" and "kg"

  • Do not use all uppercase letters, and non-linguistic ASCII characters, such as Æ, ©, or ®. Do not contain ambiguous information like symbols or special characters, such as ~ ! * $ ? _ ~ { } # < > | * ; ^ ¬ ¦, unless it is part of the brand name.

  • It must be accurate and concise, while highlighting the selling points, so that buyers can quickly understand the type and characteristics of the product with just a glance
  • It is recommended to include key information: [product brand]+[product content]+[range of application]+[product type]+[main function/feature/advantage]
    • [Product brand]: Brand name, provided the relevant authorization has been obtained from the brand owner
    • [Product content]: The composition of the commodity itself, such as material, color, size, quantity, pattern, packaging, capacity, model.
    • [Scope of application]: People and scenarios for which the product is applicable, such as "gender", "adult/teenager/children/baby", "outdoor", "banquet", "which part of body", "applicable to Apple 12 mobile phones", etc
    • [Product type]: Product classification, such as "T-shirt", "mobile phone", "bookcase" and so on.
    • [Main function/feature/advantage]: The description of the product, which refers to the value points the product can provide to buyers, such as "waterproof", "elastic", "collector's edition", "educational", "multi-functional", "can enhance immunity", etc
    • The above are general recommendations for all categories. For specific recommendations for different categories, please refer to corresponding guidelines.
  • Note
  • Must include information identifying the product, such as "umbrella" or "Martens boots".
  • It must be consistent with the category and attributes of the actual product. For example, if the product is girls' pants, irrelevant keywords such as women's wear/maternity wear/adult men's wear should not be included.
  • Subjective or time-sensitive evaluation terms shall not be used, such as "bestseller", "best", "good value for money" etc
  • It shall not use keywords that are inconsistent with goods or infringe on others' intellectual property or violate advertisement laws. For example, exaggerated statements like "top 1 in the country", "the largest", etc.
  • Do not include marketing content, promotions or descriptions irrelevant to product features, such as "discount x%", "100% quality guarantee", "free shipping".

2.2 How to select the correct category for your product

Sellers should consider their product's features and functions when choosing a correct product category. A correct category choice is one that matches the product's function and description. For example, a dress can be categorized under the "womenswear" category.
Sellers have two ways to select the relevant product category:
  1. By selecting from the list of available categories; or
  2. By utilizing TikTok Smart Category Recommendation feature

2.2.1 What are "Invite-only" Products?

"Invite-only" products refer to specific product categories that sellers can only sell if they have been onboarded through an "invite-only" process. This involves submitting the necessary documentation through the Seller Center from My Account > Account Settings > Qualification Center. This increases the likelihood that products sold in these categories are of high quality and compliant with the relevant laws and regulations. Sellers who have not been onboarded via this process are prohibited from listing, sharing, or promoting products within these categories.

2.2.2 How do I Apply to Sell "Invite-only" products?

Sellers are allowed to sell within the following categories only if they have been onboarded by submitting the required documentation through the Seller Center from My Account > Account Settings > Qualification Center. Please refer to this article for details on the application process.

2.2.3 What Happens if I List "Invite-only" Products without Approval?

TikTok Shop may audit product listings at any time and take enforcement actions against sellers who violate our guidelines. Some of the enforcement actions we may take are:
  • Rejecting product listings.
  • Delisting products from the seller's shop.
  • Assigning violation points to a seller's shop. Accumulating a certain number of violation points may result in the revocation of a seller's TikTok Shop privileges.
TikTok Shop may also take further enforcement actions against a seller based on the severity or frequency of their violations. 1. How to create an excellent first image

The first image is very important for a product, as it determines the consumer's first impression of your products, such as product colors, size, style, usage, etc
