Buyer Tax Invoice/Receipt

Manage Orders
The Buyer Tax Invoices/Receipts feature helps shops view buyer information and issue the necessary documents. The TikTok Shop platform acts as an intermediary, collecting buyer data to facilitate the shops. This data is viewable for 60 days from the date the order was received. After 60 days, if the buyer still requires a tax invoice/receipt, the shop can request the information directly from the buyer via chat and can still issue the tax invoice/receipt.
Note:
*Currently, this feature is only available for managed sellers only
  • The responsibility for issuing the tax invoice/receipt rests with the shop. TikTok Shop is merely a facilitator providing a channel to access the necessary buyer information. The collection, use, disclosure, and/or processing of personal data will be in accordance with the TikTok Shop Privacy Policy. (Read more details here.)
  • It is an offence under the law for a shop without the right to issue a tax invoice to do so, or to issue a fake tax invoice.

Once the tax invoice/receipt has been successfully sent, the seller can mark it as 'I've sent the tax invoice or receipt to the customer via email or other channels' and click confirm. This will help the seller differentiate between orders for which a tax invoice has already been issued and those that have not.

FAQ

  1. Where can I see an example of a correctly issued tax invoice?
Sellers can view examples of tax invoices and the essential details of various types of tax invoices here.
  1. Why can't I view the buyer's information for issuing a tax invoice anymore?
Try checking the order status. If the order is in pending status or has been cancelled, the seller will not be able to view the buyer's information. If the order has not been cancelled, the platform will display the buyer's information for 60 days from the date the order was received. After 60 days, the buyer's information will be masked, but the seller can still contact the buyer via chat to request the information for the tax invoice.
  1. I issued and sent the tax invoice to the buyer, but the buyer returned the product and received a refund later. What should I do?
In the case where the seller issued a tax invoice and the buyer later returned the product and received a refund, the seller can issue a Credit Note. This Credit Note should be sent to the buyer via email or another agreed-upon channel to adjust the value of the goods due to the return.
  1. What channel can the buyer use to request a tax invoice?
The buyer can click to request a tax invoice from the Order Summary page by clicking 'Tax Invoice' and then entering their personal information to issue the tax invoice. The seller will receive the request from the buyer and will be able to issue the tax invoice for the buyer. If the buyer does not complete this process, their personal information will not be sent to the seller.
