  1. Overview

1.1 Introduction

These TikTok Shop Affiliate Marketing (Seller and Product Qualification) Guidelines have been formulated with the express purpose of:
  • Building a positive shopping environment on TikTok Shop;
  • Providing a shopping experience that consumers can have confidence in.
All sellers who offer products for sale via TikTok Shop must do so in accordance with these guidelines.

1.2 Scope

These TikTok Shop Affiliate Marketing (Seller and Product Qualification) Guidelines outline the requirements sellers need to meet to qualify for TikTok Shop's Affiliate Marketing arrangement and the criteria that disqualifies them from the same.These guidelines are updated periodically. Sellers should check this page regularly to ensure they are in compliance with our current guidelines.
  1. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing is a commission-based partnership arrangement between sellers and creators. It includes the following features:
  • A seller can commission creators to promote products that qualify for Affiliate Marketing ("Affiliate Products") on their behalf.
  • Creators can search for a seller's Affiliate Products to promote them and earn commission.
  • TikTok Shop may specifically recommend a seller's Affiliate Products to creators for promotion.

2.1 Accessing Affiliate Marketing

  • The Affiliate Marketing page can be accessed via the Seller Center under the "Affiliate Marketing" tab.
  • Sellers do not need to request to view the Affiliate Marketing page. However, they must consistently meet our Affiliate Marketing Qualification Requirements in order to be able to use Affiliate Marketing and its functions.
  • TikTok Shop reserves the right to disqualify or restrict Affiliate Marketing access to sellers or products if they fail to meet our Affiliate Marketing Qualification Requirements.
  1. Affiliate Marketing Commission Plans

Affiliate Marketing Commission Plans are commission plans that sellers can use to engage creators to promote their Affiliate Products. Sellers can choose from one of two types of Affiliate Marketing Commission Plans.
Type of PlanDescription
Open CollaborationUnder this plan, a seller's Affiliate Products are visible to all Affiliate Creators. Interested Affiliate Creators can apply to promote the seller's Affiliate Products. They can do so once the seller approves their application.
Targeted CollaborationUnder this plan, a seller can invite specific Affiliate Creators to promote their products. Affiliate Creators who accept the seller's invitation can begin promoting the seller's Affiliate Products.

  1. Affiliate Marketing Qualification Requirements

In order to qualify for Affiliate Marketing and its functions, a seller's shop will be assessed on its performance in the following metrics:

  • Counterfeit Penalty Score
    • Note: This score will comprise the Violation Points a shop incurs for counterfeit-related breaches of our policies and guidelines. However, it will not include points incurred for Missing Brand Qualification.
    • No serious customer complaints (e.g., empty parcels, counterfeit goods, or suspected fraud)
Product Note: Product-related Negative Review Rate refers to all product-related negative reviews of a specific product as a percentage of the total delivered orders of that product over a 30 calendar day period. Note: Seller-fault Return and Refund Rate refers to all seller-fault return and refund orders of a specific product as a percentage of the total created orders of that product over a 30 calendar day period.

4.1 Specific Requirements

TikTok Shop monitors a seller's shop's performance in the areas outlined above on a daily basis. To qualify for and maintain its eligibility for Affiliate Marketing, the shop must meet the following requirements every day:

  • The shop's Store Rating must be at least 3
Product-related Negative Review Rate
  • For Electronics, < 1.3%.
  • For FMCG and Fashion, < 0.8%.
  • For Lifestyle,< 0.7%.
Note: This applies to products that have received at least 5 product-related negative reviews.
Seller-fault Return and Refund Rate
  • For Electronics, <2%
  • For FMCG and Fashion, < 1.8%
  • For Lifestyle, <1.5%
Note: This applies to products that have received at least 5 seller-fault returns and refund orders.
Remarks :Electronics includes products in the following categories : Household Appliances, Phones & Electronics, Pre-Owned, Computers & Office Equipment, Automotive & MotorcycleFashion includes products in the following categories : Fashion Accessories, Jewelry Accessories & Derivatives, Kids' Fashion, Luggage & Bags, Menswear & Underwear, Muslim Fashion, Shoes, Womenswear & UnderwearLifestyle includes products in the following categories : Textiles & Soft Furnishings, Home Supplies, Sports & Outdoor, Kitchenware, Tools & Hardware, Furniture, Home Improvement, Toys & Hobbies, Books, Magazines & AudioFMCG includes products in the following categories : Health, Food & Beverages, Baby & Maternity, Pet Supplies, Beauty & Personal Care

4.2 Restriction Criteria for Affiliate Marketing

When a shop or product which has previously qualified for Affiliate Marketing breaches the qualification thresholds, the shop or product will be restricted. Sellers will not be able to create new Affiliate Marketing Commission Plans associated with the restricted shop or product. However, the seller can access and edit their existing plans (including, but not limited to changing the commission rate, managing creators and deleting plans). Sellers may also create new plans for products and shops that are not restricted. Restrictions will be lifted when the shop or product no longer breaches the qualification thresholds.A shop or product may be disqualified from Affiliate Marketing if they continue performing poorly and meet the Disqualification Criteria under Section 5.
  1. Affiliate Marketing Disqualification Criteria

Either a shop or a specific product can be disqualified from Affiliate Marketing.

5.1 Disqualification Criteria for Shops

A shop will be disqualified from Affiliate Marketing if it meets any one of the three criteria listed below:
  1. Shop Performance
  • If the shop's Store Rating is less than 2.
  1. Violation of TikTok Shop's IPR Policies or Guidelines
  • The shop's counterfeit-related violations >= 3 within the last 60 days.
    • For example, a shop with 3 counterfeit-related violations will be disqualified if it accumulates at least 3 more counterfeit-related violations in the next 60 days.
  1. Customer Complaints
  • If the shop receives a high volume of customer complaints, e.g., empty parcels, counterfeit goods, or suspected fraud
  1. Account Deactivation
  • If the seller's account is permanently or temporarily deactivated due to a violation of our TikTok Shop policies and/or guidelines.
  • Important Note: In this situation, the seller will be permanently disqualified from Affiliate Marketing.
Important Note: When a shop is disqualified from Affiliate Marketing, all current Affiliate Marketing Commission Plans associated with it will terminate and the seller will not be able to create new plans involving it. When the shop re-qualifies for Affiliate Marketing, its previous plans will not be available and the seller will need to start new ones.

5.2 Disqualification Criteria for Products

When a product is disqualified from Affiliate Marketing, its seller will not be able to create new Affiliate Marketing Commission Plans involving it. A product will be disqualified under any one of the following scenarios:
  1. High Product-related Negative Review Rate
If the product has at least 7 Product-Related Negative reviews and Product-related Negative Review Rate is:
  • For Electronics, ≥ 2%
  • For FMCG and Fashion, ≥ 1.7%
  • For Lifestyle, ≥ 1.2%
  • Note: Products that have been disqualified due to high Product-related Negative Review Rates may have their Affiliate status reinstated if they meet the qualification requirements set out in Section 4.1.
  1. High Seller-fault Return and Refund Rate
If the product has at least 7 Seller-Fault Return and Refund orders and Seller-fault Return and Refund Rate is:
  • For Electronics, ≥ 2.5%
  • For Fashion and Lifestyle, ≥ 2.2%
  • For FMCG, ≥ 2.0%
  • Note: Products that have been disqualified due to high Seller-fault Return and Refund may have their Affiliate status reinstated if they meet the qualification requirements set out in Section 4.1.
  1. Violation of TikTok Shop Policies or Guidelines
  • If the product is delisted or frozen due to a violation of our TikTok Shop policies and/or guidelines.
  • Important Note: In this situation, the product will be permanently disqualified from Affiliate Marketing.

A shop or specific product may be restricted from Affiliate Collaborations if they receive a high volume of serious customer complaints (e.g., empty parcels, counterfeit goods, suspected fraud).
