What is a Negative Balance?

Negative balances occur when your account balance has a value below zero, meaning that you may have outstanding fees with TikTok Shop.
What is our Negative Balance Policy?We require you to avoid negative account balances, meaning that you must maintain an account value above zero. You may achieve this by maintaining a positive cashflow.
We reserve the right to take enforcement actions and suspend your benefits if the negative account balances meet any of the following conditions:
  • Negative account balance of any amount for 10 consecutive days
  • Negative account balance exceeding US$100
Note: The platform calculates your negative balance in US$. The amount in TH฿ may vary based on exchange rates.

What are some reasons I may have a Negative Balance?

Negative balances may occur when miscellaneous platform expenses exceed shop revenue. The following reasons may contribute to a negative balance.

What happens if I breach these guidelines?

If you are found to violate these guidelines, you may have enforcement actions taken against your account. You should note that repeated offenses will result in more significant penalties.

The following enforcement actions will be taken when a Seller meets the following conditions.

Freezing of Wallet Withdrawal Function (Withholding Balance)

The wallet withdrawal function allows a Seller to withdraw their sales balance from platform transactions that have been completed.
If transactions complete whilst the wallet has been frozen by the platform and sale proceeds (or any other monies) become due to the Seller, those sums may be temporarily withheld by the platform until negative balances are resolved.

Funds Deduction

The platform may deduct the available funds from any monies due, or that may become due to the Seller (including but not limited to any sale proceeds) to resolve the negative balance. Prior to this, Sellers will receive reminders through the Seller Center to add funds to their accounts in order to resolve the negative balance.

Suspension of Seller Benefits

The suspension of seller benefits includes, but is not limited to:
  • Creation of new self-promotional activities (such as but not limited to free shipping, flash deals, discounts, and coupons).
  • Participation in new and ongoing self-promotional activities and campaigns (Note: This does not apply to customers currently participating in these campaigns)

Appeal

We will only restore any withdrawn Seller benefits, unfreeze wallet withdrawal functionality, and release any withheld monies when negative balances have been resolved. If you believe that an enforcement action was taken against you in error or can provide proof that the negative balance will be resolved within 30 calendar days, you may file an appeal through the Seller Center by raising a ticket.
