TikTok Shop Account Closure Policy

Account Management
  1. Account Closure

Sellers can apply for account closure in accordance with the TikTok Shop Merchant Terms of Service, which also indicates the process of shop closure. Shop closure and account closure occur simultaneously.
  • Shop closure is an action initiated by the platform. Sellers will not be able to open a new shop/account with the same ID.
  • Account closure is an action initiated by the sellers. Sellers may re-register for an account with the same ID after the first account is successfully closed.
Sellers can log into seller center to apply for account closure. The access is as follows: [My Account] -> [Seller Profile] -> [Delete Account]

1.1 Account Closure Criteria

Sellers must meet the following criteria for an account closure application to be approved. Sellers can check their progress for each criteria on the [Delete Account] page.
  • All orders must be in completed or closed status, and 90 calendar days must have passed since the last completed or closed order.
  • All products must be delisted, and no product can be in moderation.
  • All dispute service tickets must be resolved.
  • No unsettled payments to the platform, including commissions, logistics fees, or outstanding invoices.
  • All dispositions containing the enforcement actions of freeze withdrawal are released.
  • The account's Violation Point total does not exceed the amount stipulated by the platform for account closure applications.
  • A 30 day public notice period of account deletion must be completed by sellers. Sellers can open the public notice period from the account closure criteria page.

1.2 Post-Account Closure

  • After account closure, TikTok Shop will revoke the seller's access and usage rights to the shop. The seller will no longer be able to conduct commercial activities using the shop.
    • Account Login: You will no longer be able to login your account (including sub account). When you have closed your account (including sub account), it cannot be reactivated or recovered. If you decide later that you want to start selling on TikTok Shop again, or if you would like to use website features that require an account, you'll need to create a new account with a new phone number or email address.
    • Linked Accounts: The e-commerce permission of other TikTok accounts linked to your account (such as Creator accounts) will no longer be available.
    • Inventory: If you have any inventory stored in a warehouse provided by Fulfilled by TikTok, then you may need to retrieve or dispose of that inventory before closing your account.
    • Data Retention: Once your account is closed, you won't be able to access your seller profile (including, but not limited to, your order history, proof of purchase, reviews, discussion posts, returns and refunds) or print an invoice. Please be advised that TikTok Shop is legally required to retain some types of data, such as order history. We do this in line with applicable local laws, including for document retention, tax/accounting and fraud prevention purposes.
  • Sellers must still fulfil all obligations that have arisen or may arise due to the shop's past transactions and comply with and fulfill all customers' after-sales legal rights.
  • After account closure, sellers may open a new shop using their previous registration documents (identification, business certificates, etc.) provided such documents are still valid and comply with all TikTok policies. However, a minimum period of 6 months must pass before sellers reapply for a TikTok Shop account. Sellers will be subjected to TikTok Shop's onboarding policies when they reapply.
