What are Restricted Products?

TikTok Shop cares about the safety of its customers. To promote a secure and positive shopping environment, we restrict the sale of certain products on our TikTok Shop platform.

Restricted Products refer to certain types of products that require prior approval from TikTok Shop to be sold. Sellers who wish to sell Restricted Products may be required to undergo a category approval process before being permitted to list such products. This process may require sellers to submit supporting documents such as certifications, testing reports, or other regulatory documents to TikTok Shop as outlined in . Sellers who have not been onboarded via this approval process are prohibited from listing, sharing, or promoting products within these categories.

Examples of Restricted Products

Sellers who wish to sell restricted products must obtain necessary product approvals in accordance with the requirements below.

Baby and Maternity Products	Certain maternity and baby products are considered restricted products and may require the seller to submit supporting documents such as certifications or test reports. Some examples include: Baby food and beverages Baby vitamins and supplements Maternity vitamins and supplements Baby bottles Infant milk formula (milk formula 1 and milk formula 2). Note: Infant milk formula is restricted from any marketing activities. Health, Beauty and Personal Care Products	Certain health, beauty and personal care products are considered restricted products and may require the seller to submit supporting documents such as certifications or test reports. Automotive & Motorcycle Products	Certain automotive and motorcycle products are considered restricted products and may require the seller to submit supporting documents such as certifications or test reports. Surprise-Based Products	All surprise-based products are considered to be restricted on TikTok Shop. Sellers must comply with our TikTok Shop Gambling, Gifting, and Surprise-based Guidelines in order to list such products. Some examples include: Mystery Boxes Advent Calendars Golden Eggs	Clear product information such as visual images showing the possible product, quantity and value the customer may receive. Sellers must strictly follow all requirements outlined in our TikTok Shop Gambling, Gifting, and Surprise-based Guidelines.
Electronic Devices	Electronic devices that fall under the following categories: Automotive & Motorcycle Baby & Maternity Products Computers & Office Equipment, Phones and other electronics Health, Beauty and Personal Care Products Home Improvement Products, Supplies and Appliances Textiles & Soft Furnishings Tools & Hardware	Warranty Type
Jewellery and Accessories	Precious metals, or jewellery made of/containing precious metals listed below: Diamond jewellery and accessories Gold jewellery (24k/carat gold) and accessories Silver jewellery and accessories Platinum jewellery and accessories Jade jewellery and accessories	Business license with the objective of selling jewelry
SIM cards	SIM cards and accessories	Business license with the objective of selling telecommunication equipment
Food	Fresh and frozen food Fruits	Images of sample products to be sold
Scales and Weight Measurement Tools	Industrial scales Kitchen scales	Weight and Measurement Tool Business License for Trading

What Happens if I List Restricted Products Without Approval?

TikTok Shop may audit product listings at any time and take enforcement actions against sellers who violate our guidelines. Some of the enforcement actions we may take are:

Rejecting product listings.
Delisting products from the seller's shop.
Assigning violation points to a seller's shop. Accumulating a certain number of violation points may result in the revocation of a seller's TikTok Shop privileges.

TikTok Shop may also take further enforcement actions against a seller based on the severity or frequency of their violations.
