Brand Qualification Rejections

Brand Qualification is a platform process by which a seller submits prior approval from a brand owner to sell products with the brand's trademark(s), name(s), or logo(s) on TikTok Shop. All submitted trademarks and related information will be verified against official IP databases including but not limited to:
  • World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Global Brand Database
  • Local Market IP Office Databases
  • European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) Database
  • Intellectual Property Office (IPO) Database
A Brand Qualification application will be rejected if:
  • The submitted information does not match the submitted documentation;
  • The submitted information does not have a match in any official IP database; or
  • The submitted document(s) are not acceptable documents for Brand Qualification.

Inaccurate Trademark Name
  1. The trademark name provided by the seller does not match the name on the submitted trademark certificate or found in any of the official IP databases.

  2. If the 'Letter of Authorisation'/'Distribution Letter' is issued by an authorised distributor, please
    1. (a) obtain the original 'Authorisation Letter' or 'Distribution Letter' the authorised distributor received from the brand or trademark owner; and
    2. (b) apply for Brand Qualification as a 2nd Level Authorised Seller.
Unqualified 1st Level Distributor
  1. 1st Level 'Letter of Authorisation'/'Distribution Letter' was not issued to the TikTok Shop seller.
  1. Please obtain a 'Authorisation Letter'/'Distribution Letter' directly from the brand or trademark owner.
Expired 1st Level Distributor Letter
  1. The submitted 'Letter of Authorisation'/'Distribution Letter' letter issued by the brand or trademark owner has expired and is no longer valid.
  1. Please submit a valid 'Letter of Authorisation'/'Distribution Letter' issued directly by the brand or trademark owner.
Unclear 1st Level Distributor Letter
  1. The submitted 'Letter of Authorisation'/'Distribution Letter' issued by the brand or trademark owner is not clear. TikTok Shop is unable to identify the trademark information.
