TikTok Shop Platform Abuse Policy

Manage OrdersFulfillment Policy

1. Overview

The Platform Abuse Policy applies to all Sellers and Creators on the platform and outlines Seller and Creator behaviour that we prohibit on our platform.
This policy forms part of the Seller Terms of Service/Creator Terms of Service that all Sellers and Creators must abide by. We periodically update our policies and guidelines. Sellers and Creators should check this page regularly to ensure that they are complying with our current policies and guidelines.

2. Dropshipping

Dropshipping is an abuse of the platform's shipping subsidies and services, and is not permitted on our platform. Dropshipping occurs when a seller uses the platform's shipping subsidies or services to fulfil or ship an order for a sale that did not originally take place on the platform.
Below is a non-exhaustive list of dropshipping behaviour that Sellers and/or Creators must avoid on our platform:
  • Sellers must not create buyer profiles and duplicate alternative platform sales on our platform. An alternative platform sale refers to a sale made on e-commerce sites, blogshops, etc. other than our platform.
  • Sellers must not place orders on behalf of their customers who do not have accounts on our platform. They must not mail any of the aforementioned orders to their customers' addresses.
  • Sellers must not send unsolicited packages to customers with the payment mode as Cash on Delivery in the hope that the customer pays for the package.
  • Sellers and Creators must not direct their customers who do not have TikTok Shop accounts to their livestreams to buy products just so the Sellers and Creators can enjoy our platform subsidies.
Sellers and Creators must not engage in any other unlisted behaviors that abuse our platform's subsidies or services.

3. Abuse of Platform Subsidies

Abuse of platform subsidies occurs when a seller misuses subsidies granted by the platform, thereby causing the platform loss (e.g. financial loss, efficiency loss), in order to gain a personal benefit (e.g. increase in order numbers, shop rating, positive product reviews). Abuse of platform subsidies is not permitted on our platform.
Below is a non-exhaustive list of behaviour that amounts to abuse of platform subsidy that sellers must avoid on our platform:
  • Sellers must not artificially inflate or manipulate product prices, whether by bundling products with services or otherwise.
  • Sellers and Creators must not deliberately misname, mislabel or misdescribe products in order to list them under product categories in which they clearly do not belong.
  • Sellers and Creators must not engage in pyramid selling or multi-level marketing behaviour.
  • Sellers and Creators must not engage in any other behaviour that abuses platform subsidies.

4. Enforcement Actions

Sellers and Creators who are found to violate this Platform Abuse Policy will have enforcement actions taken against their account in accordance with our Seller Performance Evaluation Policy, Creator Performance Evaluation Policy, Seller Terms of Service and Creator Terms of Service. Sellers should note that repeated offences will result in more significant penalties. Please refer to the Seller Performance Evaluation Policy and Creator Performance Evaluation Policy for more information on the enforcement actions that may be taken by the Platform.

5. Appeal

If a Seller or Creator believes that enforcement action was taken against them in error, they may appeal through the appeal functionalities provided by the platform in the enforcement action notification. The Platform will then investigate the case and take corrective action where applicable. Please note that submitting an appeal does not guarantee a successful outcome for the Seller or Creator. Please refer to the Seller Performance Evaluation Policy and Creator Performance Evaluation Policy for more information.
